Lesser known lore "inspirations". I'm aware that a lot of borrowing of ideas happens in Warcraft (and other fantasy/sci-fi settings as well, obviously), such as all the Lovecraft references, Norse mythology all over the place, etc. But today I somehow started down the YouTube rabbit-hole of Tolkien lore, and came across a map I hadn't seen before.TheOnlyFraen. •. Yrel was always young and naive. She, unlike Velen, was not prepared to be thrust into a leadership role let alone as the leader of ALL the Draenei in AU Draenor! So, like anyone who is self-aware of their lacking skills, she looked to a higher authority or power to make up the difference! Here are a few of my thoughts, feel free to debate them or come up with your own as well: Draenei. Considering Death Knights are fairly good at opposing magical threats and Malygos is much less level headed, I imagine Malygos is a lot more likely to die in a direct fight with Arthas than Alexstrasza.

Tolkien head Orcs, Goblins, Naz'ghul, and Trolls, as well as humans and elves and dwarves, so it makes sense to base types of darkness on that. However, the Orcs were strongly based on those of Warhammer. Pretty much all of …Once the spell is cast, the stone waits for the target to die, and then pulls their soul into itself. Fel us raw forceful drawing of magical energies that draws it from a person or others' life. A real life analogy is spending time to get a campfire going, Arcanr is getting the right size logs and tinder and patiently get it going. Fel is like pouring a load of gasoline over some wood and setting it ablaze. By the time cataclysm happens,it has been years since Kael’s downfall and the blood elves, having the sunwell back and the scourge all but gone, no longer need to have every available sword defending silvermoon. This opens up the opportunity for warrior elves to pursue questing, or perhaps fight the Horde’s enemies on new battle fronts. Garrosh was in control of whatever the Heart of Y'shaarj did for him, and his Horde focused on controlling the elements and other sources of power rather than dealing in "contracts" (shaman and warlocks) or worshipping (druids/priests) or being pawns like the Old Horde. Hence why the Dark Shaman twisted the elements to their control.Taken from Wowpedia : "The Forbidden Reach is an island located off the coast of the Dragon Isles. We're those nondescript "brave heros." While in game we get acknowledgments like Champion, General, Highlord, etc, and are almost always responsible for moving the mountains, we don't truly exist as individuals outside of a few rare cases. All this btw assumes that getting souls is a bit like first come first serve. The Kyrians of Bastion do not necessarily get every soul, some are resurrected by their friends and others grabbed by other parties beforehand.Reading through the War of the Scaleborn is giving mixed feelings. First and foremost: I'm not done with the book just yet. To be honest, its just weird that humans weren't able to be hunters until cataclysm, considering humans are obviously able to use guns and bows, have been seen using ranged weapons in game prior to cataclysm, and there are a number of human ranger characters in the lore.Troll druids generally are druids. In place of the Ancients they call upon and revere the loa (although it is suggested some of them are one and the same) and other nature spirits. Every warlock spell is fel magic.

It was the orcs' ignorance of demons and their nature that allowed them to be corrupted with such terrible results.

If the Lightforged owned the Vindicaar we would be in deep deep trouble, as they are known mindless puppets of the light, that will do untold atrocities to purify this which is different.

Blood magic isn't inherently tied to Revandreath, though the San'layn bear a striking resemblance to the Venthyr.
